A refined and devotional representation of the Mother of God of Kazan, one of the most venerated Marian icons in Russian Orthodox tradition. The Virgin inclines her head tenderly toward Christ, while the Christ Child raises His hand in blessing — a composition expressing both maternal compassion and divine authority. The delicate facial modeling, warm ochre tones, and luminous gilded background reflect traditional 19th-century Russian iconography. The finely incised halo details and balanced proportions enhance the spiritual elegance of the piece. Painted in egg tempera on wood panel. The reverse shows natural aging and wood movement consistent with its period. Condition: Very well preserved overall. Minor age-related surface wear and light craquelure visible. The gilding shows gentle wear appropriate to its age. Structurally stable. Thank you to the collector for the trust and appreciation of sacred art. “𝔒𝔩𝔡 𝔴𝔬𝔬𝔡 𝔠𝔞𝔯𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰 𝔥𝔬𝔩𝔶 𝔰𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔦𝔢𝔰”
